Review: Osmo Hydration

Hydration is power—so says Osmo's website, where they feature a variety of nutritional supplements to maximize athletic performance. I don't know about power, but the Active Hydration sure gave me endurance, especially on long, hot days biking, paddling, running, and, later in the season, chasing game through the woods. The sucrose and glucose conferred sustained energy, while the electrolytes staved off thirst—which meant I spent more time on the move, and less time stopping to re-fuel and re-hydrate. When I did rest and imbibe a few ounces, I felt an immediate boost and got right back to vigorous activity. I tried the lemon-lime flavor, which was great; but it also comes in orange, blackberry, and blueberry-pomegranate. $20; osmonutrition.com.
