Waterin' Holes

Pizza and Beer

The best spots to drink and dine in Ennis.

Ennis may be small, but when it comes time to wet your whistle, this cowboy town punches well above its weight. Whether you’re looking for pizza with your pint or a rustic log bar to lean on, “Trout Town USA” has you covered.

Willie’s Distillery
For the patriot who prefers his whiskey strong, Willie’s is the place. Sip a handcrafted cocktail, then wander into the gift shop to grab a bottle to go, or a T-shirt that reads “This ain’t no pansy-ass city whiskey.”

Sportsman’s Lodge
Drinking and driving ain’t cool, even in Ennis. Plan ahead and book a room at the Sportsman’s Lodge, which is also home to a bar and restaurant with the best prime rib in town. Best of all, it’s within walking distance of all the other bars listed here.

Longbranch Saloon
This is the log cabin of your western daydreams. Step inside, order a tall beer, and absorb the rustic ambiance. Chances are there’s a pool game going and someone named Randy is telling a semi-believable fish tale.

Burnt Tree Brewing
Start here if you like your beer with a side of wood-fired pizza and casual lawn games. It’s a laid-back local hangout where dogs outnumber tourists and every slice comes with small-town charm.

Gravel Bar
Full bar, full diner, full send. The “G-bar” is where fishing guides and families mesh over burgers, beer, and Bloody Marys. Bonus points for breakfast all day and locals who’ll tell you exactly where not to fish.

Silver Dollar Saloon
The last stop on the circuit, and the best place in town to question your choices. It’s dark, it’s rowdy, and it’s the place you’ll end up hours after you should’ve gone home.
