Putting the Cycle in Recycle
Bring your rusty ride into the Bozeman Bike Kitchen's annual recycle drive and they'll fix it up, shine it up, and give it up to somebody who needs it. Last year the group refurbished and redistributed 51 bikes from the event; they stripped and recycled another 1,200 pounds of bike through Pacific Steel. Considering that 125 volunteers donated 1,404 hours to make it happen last year, this is a pretty good way to take "Old Bessie" to her final resting place. She'll be taken care of. If you're all booked up on May 15, head out to the Bozeman Bike Kitchen's weekly work nights—as many as 50 people show up to fix, tinker, and modify their bikes for a few hours.
