Review: BaseCamp Complete Shake Mix
Despite their nutritional benefits, fruit smoothies have never appealed to me. Protein shakes, on the other hand—I could drink those every day. Although I'm not exactly an aficionado, I've tried enough different varieties to know a good one when I see it—or rather, taste it. And the BaseCamp Complete from RoundHouse Provisions is not only good, but damn good.
Not only is this mix tasty, but it's loaded with essential vitamins and minerals—28, to be exact. A glass of water's sufficient to stir up a quick meal, but it's even better with my favorite additives: milk, yogurt, and a scoop of peanut butter. With that blend, I've got a delicious shake that fills me up for hours. It's great both before a big hike and after a morning bike ride.
As if that wasn't enough, BaseCamp Complete is shelf-stable, so you can pick up a bag for your pre/post-exercise meal and keep another in your bug-out bag or emergency-ration kit. Its calorie-rich contents will satisfy either way.
