Review: BAR-U-EAT Granola Bars

If you want a snack bar that reminds you of something ol' Aunt Edna used to make, pick up a BAR-U-EAT and smile, knowing that just like Edna's treats, this sucker's made right, with no nasty chemicals hiding inside. Yep, these bars are everything a granola bar should be, but often isn't: all-natural ("nothin' weird," as they like to say); full of simple, nutritious ingredients; and filling enough to serve as a meal substitute. On top of all that, they taste just fine, despite the lack of refined sugar that makes so many bars seem great, until you realize how much they're messing up your body. For all you granola-munchin' granolas out there, the company takes things a step further, eliminating the use of soy, wheat, dairy, even plastic waste—the packaging itself is compostable. So now matter how green, gluttonous, or glutarded you may be, you can't go wrong with a Bar-U-Eat.

$13 for a four-flavor sample-pack; barueat.com.
