Review: Muck Boot Chore Classic
I bought my first pair of Muck boots before starting a job as a ranch hand when I was 19 years old. Over ten years later and I’m still wearing ’em. But a decade of hard use—and some questionable decisions—has resulted in a couple pinholes. This year, I decided to freshen up the boot rack and give Muck’s 25th Anniversary kick a try. The Chore Classic Mid features a thick “triple” rubber toe and a “quadruple” rubber heel with deep tread and excellent support. There’s even a steel plate for added stability. The 5mm stretchy neoprene liner allows for easy entry and keeps my feet toasty on cold days. The fact that they’re 100 percent waterproof has allowed me to chop wood in the snow, hike in the rain, and rig boats in all sorts of weather. All without getting wet. After 25 years of production, not much has changed, turns out. Muck is still making a damn good boot. Available at muckbootcompany.com; $130.
