Review: Minus33 Expedition Mock Neck
These days, with so many styles of baselayers to choose from, it can be hard to know which material is best. However, sometimes it’s best to get back to the basics, and as the old adage goes: “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Such is the case with the Expedition Mock Neck from Minus33. Made from 100% merino wool, the Expedition has kept me comfortable in even the harshest weather. Just like the original Model T, you can get the Expedition in whatever color you want, just so long as it’s black. The Australian wool is soft on skin, naturally moisture-wicking, odor-repellent, and exceptionally comfortable. The fit of the shirt is snug, yet not so snug that it restricts movement. Best of all, you won’t find an irritating neck tag—or any branding, for that matter—making it a great option for parties or events in town. Whether I'm layering up for a cold, shoulder-season elk hunt, winter camping, or just another day on the slopes, I've sure been pleased with the Expedition Mock Neck. Available at minus33.com; $150.
