Review: Dovetail Thermal Denim Pant

When the winter temperatures plummet, dressing warm becomes a more complicated task. You can count me out on wearing cold, stiff jeans in single-digit weather. But on the flip side, wearing my snow pants everywhere also seems a bit excessive.

With Dovetail's Britt Utility Thermal Denim Pant, I can stop my complaining and no longer have to compromise comfort for warmth, or vice-versa. These work pants are tough on the outside, but soft and stretchy on the inside—perfect for shoveling snow, walking the dog, and even lounging around the house. They even have a knee slot where you can add padding, which I personally use for adding some cushion when playing ice hockey.

The jeans also have a multitude of built-in pockets, some including zippers, so I can keep my hands free and phone, wallet, and keys secured when out around town or on the trails. The pants are lined with recycled, thermoregulating insulation fabric, so I don't overheat when coming inside. Dovetail claims that each pair saves 8 plastic bottles from the landfills.

These pants are better for the planet, and better than any other jeans at keeping me warm—and that is no easy task! The rest of my pants have officially been pushed to the back of my closet until springtime.

Available at dovetailworkwear.com; $129.
