Review: Arcade Topo Jimmy Chin Belt

I've been rocking the same belt for over 10 years. So when faced with the proposition of trying a new one, I was wary to say the least. The old one's stiff braided nylon was perfectly broken into my hipbones, and had never let me (nor my pants) down.

But once I snapped on the Jimmy Chin Topo from Arcade Belts, I knew that I'd found a new winner. The belt is perfectly comfortable straight from day one, with no break-in required, thanks to its supple feel and slight elasticity. In fact, it's even more comfortable than ol' 10-year.

Comfort is the main principle of Arcade Belts, and all of their offerings are elasticized to provide maximum freedom of movement. The belt buckle snaps closed like a seatbelt, so it only needs to be adjusted once and it'll always fit just right. The buckle has a sweet minimalist topo-map design etched onto it, and right next to the buckle is a bright-red stitched-on emblem sporting the Chinese characters for Jimmy's name. It looks particularly badass on a pair of black jeans.

In fact, I've been leaving the belt on my favorite pair of black jeans and throwing them in the laundry together, as the belt is machine-washable. Arcade Belts has a huge selection of different colors, patterns, and styles, so you might as well pair one to each of your favorite pants. 10% of sales from each belt in the Jimmy Chin collection are donated to Protect Our Winters. Keep your pants up for a cause.

Available at arcadebelts.com; $43.
