All in the Family
The time has come: a visit from the fam. Hugs and kisses make their rounds, updates are exchanged, and… now what?
Don’t waste time trying to decide what to do—show them the best Bozeman has to offer.
Outdoor Adventures
As you well know, Bozeman is home to a vast outdoor playground. Take the fam on a short hike around Hyalite Reservoir—the Westshore trail has been widened and flattened, making it nice for unseasoned legs. Or take them up the iconic M trail where they can enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the town and university. Travel out of town to Big Sky where you can go hiking, fishing, rafting, or skiing, depending on the season. And, of course, there’s always Yellowstone National Park—a tourist trap, but hey, that’s exactly what your parents are here for.
In-Town Activities
Looking for something a little closer to home? Head downtown and roll for a strike at The Bowl or catch a show at the Verge Theater. Learn about dinosaurs and astronomy at the ever-popular Museum of the Rockies, and experience Bozeman-area history at the Gallatin History Museum. Finally, take advantage of the parents’ pocketbook and head downtown for some shopping.
Good Eats
Between all the shenanigans, you’re going to work up an appetite. For lunch, enjoy delicious sandwiches and salads at Sola Café on Kagy. La Parilla is still a local favorite, but it has moved onto Main Street. they're still serving up delicious fusion burritos. For dinner, you can’t go wrong at Montana Ale Works—they serve, well, the works, from pasta and seafood to steaks and burgers, plus an extensive beer menu.
