Review: Kate's Bars
When packing up for a long day on the trail or river, throw in a Kate’s Bar, a scrumptious blend of all-natural, organic ingredients guaranteed to fill your gut and please your palate at the same time. Made in Victor, Idaho, Kate’s Bars come in several sizes and flavors, with differing configurations of peanut butter, chocolate, fruit, and nuts. My favorite is the Stash Bar: peanut butter and dark chocolate, and a bit smaller and softer than the Tram Bar, Kate’s flagship 360-calorie beast named for the Jackson Hole tram. Whichever one you choose, expect to be satisfied—they’re made by our kindred spirits to the south, and these folks know firsthand what outdoor enthusiasts like. Available all around town. About $3 each, depending on variety; katesrealfood.com.
