Review: Merrell Moab Speed 2
As my trail running has turned more into fast hiking, I’ve found the Merrell Moab Speed 2 to be a great, versatile shoe. The Vibram soles have the teeth to tackle anything the trail throws at them, including the occasional scree field or steep, uphill scamper. The shoes chew up the trail in both directions, but inspire a special confidence at faster, downhill paces. My favorite aspects, though, are the weight and comfort. Overall, the Speed 2 is a lightweight shoe that offers all-day comfort—from climbing Baldy to a beer at the Bozone. Available at merrell.com; $140.
