Review: Merrell Antora 2 Gore-Tex

Merrell Antora 2 Gore-Tex in Paloma? More like Pamplona. I test-ran these on a 12-mile rocky, wet trail and now feel confident that I could handle the cobblestone streets during the Running of the Bulls. The Vibram soles have a rock-plate for protection, allowing me to feel connected to the ground without the aches and pains of rocks—or bull horns—jabbing into the bottom of my feet. The Invisible Fit Gore-Tex membrane would surely keep my feet dry from the pools of blood of my fallen comrades in Pamplona, letting me wash away the stains to make the shoes look good-as-new. While the survivors gripe and moan, rubbing their blistered feet, I’ll be taking a jog through the Spanish countryside. $150; merrell.com.
