Review: Minus33 Midweight Crew
Wool that stretches? If it weren't for the advent of flex jeans, I wouldn't believe it. But it's true—the Minus 33 Midweight 245 Thermal Base Layer Crew ($90) has flex, so I can wear a form-fitting long-sleeved shirt that doesn't flap around, but allows full mobility when creeping, crawling, stooping, stalking, reaching, rolling, and all the other postures I find myself in when hunting. The Midweight 245 is warm, breathable, and comfortable, and the 100% merino wool shucks stank—another asset when trying to sneak up on keen-nosed animals. I took this shirt turkey hunting and it proved its worth on those variable spring days when it's cold as a brass monkey in the early morning, then warmer as the day wears on. The Midweight 245 comes in a wide range of colors, making it great for any activity, and Minus33 offers three other weights (micro, light, and heavy) to accommodate different seasons, climates, and metabolisms.
