Rodeo Roundup
Make it a western summer.
Summer in Montana means rodeo, and there are plenty of boot stompin’, knee slappin’, bronc bustin’ events to choose from. Nearly every weekend you will find some of the West’s finest cowboys and cowgirls, both amateur and professional, competing in bull riding, team roping, bareback riding, saddle-bronc riding, steer wrestling, barrel racing and calf-roping events.
Clay Vines, a 2006 graduate of Livingston High School and team roper, says the fun part of being a rodeo competitor is spending time working with horses, traveling around the state meeting people, and making a few dollars. It’s a lot of work and a lot of travel but worth it. And worth watching! Fast-paced action keeps a rodeo audience on the edge of their seats! So rustle up your family and friends for some good ol’ fashioned summer fun in the tradition of the American West.
