To Winter
There’s no bad season for beer, but winter has to be one of the best—at least in the top four. Here’s a look at what’s on tap this winter around the Bozone.
Bitter Root Brewing: Enjoy a taste of Hamilton with Bitter Root’s Winter Ale, a malt-forward beer brewed with grains of paradise, juniper berries, vanilla beans, coriander, and cinnamon.
Bozeman Brewing: New this season, the Rockford Buzz Kill Java Stout is the perfect blend of malty beer and strong coffee, inarguably our two favorite drinks. The combination of six different malts achieves the necessary body to withstand the strong flavor of freshly roasted java.
Bridger Brewing: With its rich, malty flavor, the Brewmaster’s Reserve Barleywine will help wash down any pizza on a cold winter evening. Another option is the McTavish Scotch Ale, which is aged in whiskey-soaked barrels, giving it a strong oak aroma and caramel flavor.
406 Brewery: Grab a Post-Bout Stout, made special for the Gallatin Rollers Girlz. This milk stout has flavors of chocolate and dark-roast coffee, with a light creaminess. It won’t be around all winter though, so call ahead to get up-to-date info about what’s on tap.
Lone Peak Brewery: A staple of winter, a pint of Steep ‘N’ Deep Winter Ale is the perfect way to salute Lone Peak and wash down a burger. Or grab a Hippy Highway Oatmeal Stout, a deep black ale that’s a meal in itself.
