Winter Vittles
Now it's a little easier to support the valley’s farmers in the dead of winter. Starting January 17, 2010, the Emerson Center hosts a winter farmers’ market every Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm. Through March, the winter market will open only once a month, but by April, with some early bird, greenhouse greens coming up, the market switches to bi-weekly and then goes weekly in May and early June.
The winter market will be selling everything local from beef, pork, and lamb to winter vegetables, cheeses, milk, pies, and cakes. There will also be plenty of canned delicacies including homemade sauces, salsa, relishes, jellies, and jams. Be sure to check it out and support the first season of Bozeman’s winter market. If you're interested in becoming more involved or selling at the market, contact Kathryn Donovan, market coordinator, at [email protected].
