Ten years of Huffing for Stuffing.
For the past nine years, the Gallatin Valley Food Bank (GVFB) has been getting Bozeman folks to put down their forks and lace up their running shoes on Thanksgiving Day. Huffing for Stuffing—a 5 or 10k, fun-run or timed option—has cumulatively raised over $290,000 dollars in race proceeds to support the Food Bank, and they aren’t taking a breather anytime soon. For this year’s 10th anniversary run, race co-director and services navigator at the GVFB, Monica Ruiz reminds us that, “It’s pretty amazing that on Thanksgiving, people choose to put their running shoes on and help their neighbors who are struggling to put food on the table.” Runners can help by bringing non-perishable food donations on race day, or donating/volunteering, anytime of year. Don’t wait to register for this year’s run—to celebrate their 10-year anniversary, race organizers promise extra-sweet swag for early registration at huffingforstuffing.com.
