Fishing for Funds

The Museum of the Rockies is once again harnessing southwest Montana’s love of fishing to benefit their Yellowstone Children’s Discovery Center, at the second annual TwoFly fundraiser. It’s a two-day fly fishing event uniting anglers and guides—two participants sponsor a boat (starting at $1,250 and going up to $5,000) and invite their favorite guide to float and fish on the Madison or Yellowstone Rivers. Brad Freeburg, last year’s committee chair, says, “This is a fun way to accomplish two things: you get to go fishing and you get to help the museum.” Practice up all summer, because on September 15, the boats hit the river. Upon their return, entrants submit photographs from the day for a chance to win awards for best fishing action photo and the best scenic photo. There’s still time to sponsor the event and register your own boat. View all the award categories and rules or donate an item to be auctioned at museumoftherockies.org.
