Two Passes, One Community

A chance to win big by doing the right thing.

As the outside temps drop and you pack away your bike and running shoes for the winter, reach a little deeper into your gear closet—past your downhill set-up—and grab your Nordic skis. With top-notch terrain in every direction, skiing in southwest Montana is a no brainer. This year you can hone your skills, drop the cost-per-use ratio of your set-up, and build community with two local passes—those being the Bridger Ski Foundation (BSF) Trail Pass and a Crosscut Season Pass. BSF and Crosscut are both members of the Outside Kind Alliance, reminding you to Ski Kind this season. When you purchase both passes, you’ll gain access to over 75 miles of expertly groomed trails and help build a future where outdoor recreation, youth programs, and community stewardship thrive together.

And if all that weren’t enough, here’s a little extra incentive for this season: If you buy both passes by December 31st, you’ll be automatically entered to win a Rossignol XC ski package valued at up to $500. One lucky winner—selected & notified by early January—will work with Crosscut’s Nordic & Trail Center Manager to choose the gear. It’s a win-win: invest in your community and maybe walk away with brand-new skis.

For decades, BSF has been the heart of Bozeman’s Nordic community. Each year, the nonprofit grooms 50 miles of local trails across seven locations. Their efforts are partially funded through the revenue generated by the sales of trail passes. While passes aren’t mandatory, the funds they raise are essential to maintaining the trails for the enjoyment of everyone—passholders and non-passholders alike. Each purchase goes directly to the BSF Trails Program, keeping these trails free and accessible for our community.

Meanwhile, nestled in the Bridger Range, Crosscut Mountain Sports Center offers another 28 miles of beautifully maintained trails. Also a nonprofit, Crosscut grooms daily throughout winter and provides rentals, lessons, biathlon programs, and community events for all ages & abilities. However, unlike the community trails maintained by BSF, a day or season pass is required to access their trail system.

Together, BSF and Crosscut form the backbone of Bozeman’s vibrant Nordic network. When you support both, you’re helping fund free youth ski lessons, elite training programs, inclusive community races, and trail access that welcomes everyone. So whether or not you come away with some brand-new skis, you can rest assured that you’re getting some good karma—not to mention fresh air and exercise, all winter long.
