Review: Therm-a-Rest Down Pillow

Thanks to the Therm-a-Rest Air Head Down Pillow, the days of stuffing clothes into my sleeping-bag cover to make-shift a lumpy pillow are behind me. Inflating the pillow takes less than three exhales, making it easy to do when first arriving at camp or right before bed.

The pillow comes with a removable polyester cover (made from partially recycled fabrics), so I'm easily able to throw it in the wash. Made with nonslip fabric, it doesn't slide around my sleeping bag, so I don't wake up with a sore neck or find my pillow anywhere but under my head.

When it comes time to break down camp, the pillow deflates quickly and fits easily in its compact sleeve. I took the pillow on a fall river trip down the Colorado River, and between the pillow and my Paco Pad, I slept as soundly as I do in a "real" bed (if not better).
