Review: Muck Boot Outscape Max

The Muck Boot Co. Outscape Max Ankle Boot is made for wet days in the fall, winter, and spring. The slip-on style makes them a great option to grab on your way out the door for a quick errand, or to wear out on a rainy, muddy day. In terms of sizing, I found that the boots run a bit small, so bumping up a size is a good idea, especially if you plan to wear them with wool socks.

These boots aren't insulated, so wearing them on a long, cold winter outing isn’t recommended; but they’re fine for quick jaunts outside, or to and from the ski lodge. Likewise, I'd be skeptical to hike any serious distance in these, as the lack of laces or support allowed my feet to move around quite a bit inside. That being said, I found the Outscape Max to be a comfortable, lightweight option for short outings or walking around in unpredictable weather.

Available at muckbootcompany.com; $130.
