Review: Miir Camp Cup

Who doesn't love a classic, time-tested product made better with modern materials? Such is the case with the Miir Camp Cup, a contemporary version of the steel campfire mug that many of us grew up with, and which can still be found at every small-town sporting-goods store in America. The Miir cup retains the old-school look & feel of its predecessor, but adds two important elements: double-wall vacuum insulation and a splash-proof lid, both of which keep your coffee or hot cocoa warm longer, for more relaxed, leisurely sipping—which, of course, is in keeping with the spirit of camping in the first place. Four sizes accommodate all types of drinks and drinkers; I went with the 12-ounce version, which is just right for morning coffee and evening libations, but a 16- or 20-ounce model might be better for keeping cocktails cool on hot summer afternoons. Available at miir.com; $30 for the 12-ounce cup.
