Review: Costa Grand Catalina

Sporting a retro vibe and Costa’s unmatched clarity, the revamped Grand Catalina sunglasses leave little to be desired. Costa really knocked it out of the park with the high-definition 580G glass and versatility across a wide spectrum of lighting conditions—including bright sun and overcast skies. The Grand Catalina shades also feature nifty, removable side shields that block glare and peripheral light from entering one’s field of view. This feature is especially advantageous when sight-fishing for trout. The shades also have vented, adjustable nose pads and small channels ensuring perspiration doesn’t pool up around one’s eyes. They’re great for folks like me who spend most of their time working up a sweat outdoors, whether it be ski touring on sunny days in the spring or rowing rivers during the warm months. $292; available at costadelmar.com.
