Review: Kuhl Revel ¼ Zip Sweater
When the weather turns in Montana, a good fleece is essential for staying warm and cozy. And when it comes to layering up, Kuhl is the first company I turn to. True to Kuhl's time-tested durability and quality, the Revel ¼ Zip Sweater stands out as an excellent midweight layer for around town, on the trails, or doing fall chores around the yard. Made from Kashmira fleece, the Revel has a lightweight, yet remarkably warm feel. Not to mention the softness—woven from a fine-gauge yarn, the jacket interior is silky and supple, like your favorite old t-shirt. The exterior, however, has a slightly rougher texture that sheds snow, leaves, or pine needles—great for both swamping leaves from the gutters and bushwacking off-trail in the mountains. To round it out, the Revel comes in ten different colors, so there’s a pattern for every occasion. I opted for the earthen-tone “Mole/Charcoal,” which blends in well in the woods while hunting, and isn’t too flashy around town. As far as fleece jackets go, this is about as good as they get.
