Review: Hot Chillys Micro-Elite Bottom
Between skiing all winter, hunting during the cooler fall months, and the year-round unpredictable conditions that Montana offers up, I can never have enough base layers. However, I may have stumbled across my favorite pair to date: the Micro-Elite Chamois by Hot Chillys.
I've been familiar with the Hot Chillys brand for a long time. I gave my kids hand-me-down base layers when they were younger. They skied in them for years with no complaints, and have since passed them down to another family. But it wasn’t until recently that I tried them for myself. It’s obvious that Hot Chillys' durable, long-lasting quality still exists today.
The Micro-Elite Chamois midweight thermal is extremely soft and comfortable. The fabric is smooth, not itchy like some of my older base layers. Its moisture transfer fibers enhances breathability so you don't overheat, and it wicks away moisture, keeping you warm and dry. Plus, the material has a special odor-blocking technology embedded into the yarns. This form-fitting layer is stylish, flattering, and well-constructed. It provides exceptional warmth without adding bulk or restricting movement, ideal for cold-weather activities.
