Alpaca Sweatpants

I picked up the Alpaca Wool Sweatpants from Arms of Andes with the primary intention of using them for cold morning runs. In a very short time, they found their way into many of my other cold-weather activities, especially fishing. The advantages of alpaca wool over sheep wool, even Merino, are many, but the considerable warmth and breathability are the primary attributes relevant here. Tapered legs with a bottom cuff make it easy to slip into a pair of waders, adding that extra warmth to keep me in the river that much longer on cold fall, winter, and spring days. I also appreciate the anti-bacterial and odor-resistant properties of alpaca wool—as does my wife. Throw in the softness of these sweatpants, and it’s easy to go from a morning of fishing to an afternoon watching football. $215; armsofandes.com.
