Dean Sauskojus

Dean Sauskojus has spent so many hours driving to Yellowstone that he could do the trip in his sleep—which he sometimes does for early-morning photography. While most people in the Park are chasing buffalo or waiting for a grizzly to show up, he’s taking pictures of geysers, mountains, streams, and rivers. He’s a self-taught photographer who began taking landscape images with a 4x5 view camera. After living in Kansas, Oregon, and Colorado, he was drawn back to the mountains of Montana. He’s been chased by moose, fallen into mud holes, dropped his camera into rivers, and yet still loves to get outdoors and look for the perfect composition. His latest project is an eBook, The Ultimate Photo Guide to Yellowstone National Park, which is available on his website, dsprophoto.com.
