Fall Fun
Fall time family activities around Bozeman.
Fall time is family time, and with a bunch of autumn-centered activities in the Bozeman area, you’ll get more family time than you can handle. Whether you’re looking for safe areas to take your kids trick-or-treating, a fun-filled day of hayrides and pumpkin patches, or to get good and scared at a haunted house, Bozeman’s got you covered.
Bozeman Maze
There isn’t a Bozemanite around that doesn’t know about the Bozeman Maze. Reach new heights on the bungee trampoline, go on a train ride, and of course, attempt to find your way through the massive hay maze. Arranged in a creative design, this maze will confuse the young and old alike, so brush up on your directional skills and get ready for an hour-long venture—getting out will not be easy. A smaller, simpler maze for the young’uns is also available. The maze runs weekends through October; more info can be found at bozemanmaze.com.
Rocky Creek Farm
No one does Halloween like Rocky Creek Farm—their pumpkin patch provides an entire day of fun. Not only can you pick your own pumpkin, but the farm also offers hayrides, a petting zoo, a corn maze, and a straw fort. At $6 per child, it’s fun for the whole family that won’t break the bank. The last two weekends before Halloween, stop by Rocky Creek for their infamous Haunted Swamp. Be warned: this swamp has been known to make even the bravest soul cry like a little girl. There is also a less-scary route early in the night for younger kids and wussies. Less scary walk: 5-7pm; Haunted Swamp: 7-10pm.
Downtown Trick-or-Treat
Bring the kiddos to downtown Bozeman on Halloween for safe, fun trick-or-treating from 3-6pm. Local businesses stay open to provide candy and games for kids. When you get chilly, stop by the visitor’s center for hot drinks. The kids can have fun and parents can relax knowing their children are safe.
Costume Contest at the Mall
Warm up from the cold fall air and come inside to trick-or-treat at the mall. Local businesses hand out candy; you can also get your picture taken and try to win prizes in the annual mall costume contest. The best part? It’s all free. Trick-or-treating goes from 5-8pm, and registration for the costume contest is 5-6pm.
