Review: Muck Arctic Sport Boots

Anyone who’s had a brush with frostbite knows the importance of insulated boots. But boots rated down to negative 40? That’s what you get with Muck Boot Co.’s Arctic Sport Boots, thanks to a 5mm neoprene liner and additional thermal foam in the bootbed. I keep ’em in the truck all fall and winter, in case I get stuck while hunting or en-route to an off-the-beaten-path trailhead. All that warmth, though, doesn’t come at a cost to comfort. A cushioned midsole and fleece lining make for a plush feel, and the materials contour to your feet, reducing blisters and chafing. They’re comfortable enough to wear for hours, whether that’s hanging out in camp or creeping through snowy timber looking for whitetail deer. But regardless of what you use ’em for, the boots are fully waterproof, so you know you’ll stay dry. Plus, aggressive, lugged outsoles provide grip and traction, even on ice. Overall, the Arctic Sport Boots are a great choice for when the temps start to drop… any day now. Available at muckbootcompany.com; $170.
