Review: CamelBak Mil Spec Antidote Reservoir
Like headlamps, water bladders have become an outdoor-equipment staple—for civilians and soldiers alike. If you want a good hydration system that’s built to military specifications—meaning, it’s tough as shit—check out the CamelBak Mil Spec Antidote, made in partnership with Mystery Ranch. This burly bladder holds 70 or 100 ounces of fluid (depending on model), has a convenient Hydrolock flow system, and is low-profile for stability and a snug fit in the pack. The Quick Link tube allows for faster refilling and the attachment of filters and other CPC accessories. Naturally, either size fits perfectly in most Mystery Ranch backpacks, and the earthy desert-sand color makes it great for hunting. The Antidote served me well on all my summer scouting trips; I expect it to become standard gear for all my outdoor adventures. Available at Mystery Ranch. $46 and $48, depending on size; camelbak.com.
