Review: SpotOn GPS Fence
I want my dog to be a dog, which means being able to wander, sniff, explore, and enjoy his home. The SpotOn GPS Fence ($999) allows for such freedom without constant monitoring, which means I can go about working, gardening, or other activities without having to keep track of his every move.
The app is incredibly easy to use, and I love that I can draw a customized boundary right from my phone, rather than dealing with installing a physical fence. Being able to create a boundary that works for my property (or an Airbnb while traveling) and adjust it when needed makes the whole system feel really flexible.
SpotOn gives him the gentle reminder he needs to stay close to home, and has helped make him more of an observer than a reactor.
I also appreciate the training resources that come with SpotOn. Having guidance on how to introduce the collar and teach my dog the boundaries makes the process feel much less intimidating. And if a little extra help is needed, I can schedule a free call with a dog trainer or get setup assistance from customer support.
For me, the biggest benefit is peace of mind. I know my dog is naturally curious, so seeing a deer or catching an interesting scent could be enough to send him wandering. But SpotOn gives him the gentle reminder he needs to stay close to home, and has helped make him more of an observer than a reactor.
For a dog owner who wants to give their dog the freedom to explore without constantly keeping them on a leash or watching their every move, SpotOn is a great option.
