Review: NRS Vector PFD
Change can be hard, but it doesn't have to be uncomfortable. I am guilty of sticking to what I know, and while there is some value to that, I am happy I gave the NRS Vector a chance
The fit is what really sold me. The Orbit Fit System hugs just right, tightens down safely, and doesn't ride up. I’ve worn it for long days guiding and while practicing rope work, and it’s stayed comfortable and locked in the whole time. The rescue features are dialed: quick-release belt, internal harness, solid attachment points. There’s a slotted front pocket (fits a carabiner and a snack) and a handwarmer tunnel that doubles as gear storage. Little things, but they add up.
It's built to last, and without any compromise to the environment. Recycled outer shell and PVC-free foam—tough and sustainable. I will say it’s a bit overbuilt if you’re just floating the Madison with a six-pack. But if you’re guiding, teaching swiftwater, or running anything with consequence, it’s a vest you can count on.
After a few weeks of wearing it for everything from training days to pushy water, I can confidently say I'm happy to have it in my quiver.
