Review: NRS Vector PFD

Change can be hard, but that doesn't mean it has to be uncomfortable. I am guilty of sticking to what I know, and while there is some value to that, I am happy I gave the NRS Vector a chance.

The fit is what really sold me. The Orbit Fit System hugs just right, tightens down safely, and doesn't ride up. Whether I'm wearing it for long days guiding or while practicing rope work, it stays comfortable and locked in the whole time. The rescue features are dialed: quick-release belt, internal harness, and solid attachment points. There’s a slotted front pocket (which can fit a carabiner and a snack) and a handwarmer tunnel that doubles as gear storage. They're little things, but they add up.

The NRS Vector is built to last, without any compromise to the environment. It consists of a recycled outer shell and PVC-free foam, making it both tough and sustainable. It may be a bit overbuilt if you’re just floating the Madison with a six-pack, but if you’re guiding, teaching swiftwater, or running anything with consequence, it’s a vest you can count on.

After a few weeks of wearing it for everything from training days to pushy water, I can confidently say I'm happy to have it in my quiver.
