Review: Laek Waterproof Pack

For an all-in-one pack to weather the storms of spring, check out the Seafield 30L Waterproof Backpack from Laek. This pack's got it all, so you can do it all, and keep it all dry while doing it.

The burly 600-denier waterproof material will take a beating, from both unexpected abrasion and torrential downpours. The roll-top design offers full, open access to the main compartment. Inside is a removable laptop sleeve and a mesh pocket for small valuables. Outside, there's a water-bottle holder and an external pocket, so you don't have to mess with the roll-top when you want to snatch something quick, like a headlamp or bike lock. The waistbelt is removable, and a few well-placed attachment points allow further customization for the wearer's unique needs.

All in all, this is a supremely well-designed pack that offers unmatched versatility: carry it around town on rainy days, on foot or when bike-commuting; wear it hiking to ward off unexpected alpine showers; and stash it in the canoe, kayak, or raft for river floats, then shoulder it for the shuttle. The Seafield is the one waterproof bag to rule them all—or at least to endure the diverse and mercurial atmospheric conditions of Montana, from spring through fall.
