Review: Black Diamond LT 1100 Headlamp
With Black Diamond’s Distance LT 1100 headlamp, gone are the days of using my phone flashlight to navigate around camp, or reluctantly buying batteries that I'll likely use for nothing else.
The LT 1100’s battery is rechargeable and lasts up to 50 hours (on the lowest setting), making it a reliable option for multi-day backpacking and river trips, as well as a more cost-effective and eco-friendly option. The headlamp can produce up to 1100 lumens, offering ample light when arriving at camp a little later in the evening, or when hiking down the mountain after catching a sunset.
The LT 1100 has an adjustable brightness setting (that even works with gloves on), as well as a pivoting light so I can dim and point it down when chatting with fellow campers, or turn it to full-blast when looking for firewood in the dark. The headlamp is also waterproof, making it resilient against summer rain showers or splashes on the river.
I don’t anticipate needing another headlamp for a very long time. $120; blackdiamondequipment.com
