Review: Jack Wolfskin Hydro III
With its light weight, snug & comfy fit, and slick SUPER DWR finish, the Hydro III by Jack Wolfskin is an excellent choice for cool mornings on the trail. This versatile mid-layer repels light drizzle indefinitely, and can even withstand a decent downpour for a short duration. They call it a fleece, and it's warm like one; but it feels more like a super-thin softshell. Regardless of terminology, the Hydro keeps you comfortable whenever the temperature drops and your tee shirt's just not enough. It's also a great choice to stash in your daypack or drybag for hikes and floats, to ward off those late-afternoon thundershowers. A solid summer layer all around. $130; jackwolfskin.com.
