The Whitebark Pine - whose nuts are a crucial food source for grizzly bears and other animals - is in trouble. Join Erin Shanahan from the National Park Service to learn why the Whitebark Pine is listed as an endangered species and what efforts are being made to protect this iconic tree.

About Erin Shanahan
Erin Shanahan is an ecologist for the National Park Services Greater Yellowstone Inventory and Monitoring Network. She has been the protocol lead for the Interagency Whitebark Pine Monitoring Program since its inception in 2004. Through her work monitoring whitebark pines, Erin has had the privilege to visit some of the most magnificent areas throughout the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
