Book: Montana State Parks
With 55 state parks in Montana, it’s hard to know the fine details about each one. Luckily, in light of the 75th anniversary of Montana’s state parks, someone has finally made a guide to all of them. Erin Madison and Kristen Inbody’s Montana State Parks (Riverbend Publishing, $20) identifies each park and emphasizes their unique characteristics. The authors quote visitors, historians, and park managers. Useful sidebars list activities and don’t-miss scenery, with abundant photos providing a visual guide. The large map at the front allows you to see where all the parks are located, and the parks are categorized into regional areas. This is definitely a worthwhile tome to keep in the glovebox.
