New Town Treats
The beloved Bozeman summer… are you stand-up paddleboarding yet? Kayaking? Fly fishing? Going to beer and food tastings with other happy Bozemanites? If your answer is no, we can help. With so much happening in your Bozeman Parks and Recreation Department, we chose to focus this update on new summertime additions that specifically target Outside Bozeman readers like you. We have added a plethora of new happenings designed to make Bozeman an even sweeter place to live.
Get on the Water
This summer we launch four separate water-focused, beginning-level classes offering top-notch instructors and all equipment provided. The new water-focused activities include beginning kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, canoeing, and women’s fly-fishing (not this time, boys).
Boogey Down
This summer we’ve added a free Pickin’ in the Park program. Twice a month we’ll meet at the Bogert Bandshell for good old-fashioned acoustic jamming. This jam is appropriate for all skill levels, so whether you’re new to playing with others or a seasoned veteran, enjoy a musical evening in an outdoor atmosphere. Just bring an instrument, a chair, and a grin.
Kid-Less Cavorting
For parents, we added the Single Parent Mingle and the Parent’s Night Out. At the Mingle, you can enjoy beer tastings from local breweries, food tastings from local restaurants, activities for the kids, and the company of other Bozemanites with similar interests. The Parent’s Night Out gives you and your partner that much-needed night on the town, while we take care of the kiddos, providing dinner, games, and crafts.
Team Pride
And finally, for a low-pressure, high-fun team activity, we added the 21-and-up Sand Volleyball League to complement the ever-popular over 21-and-up Kickball League. These leagues are a ridiculous amount of fun (which some attribute to the post-game social activities), and are a great way to stay active and social after work throughout the week. Register individually or as a team; we’ll take care of the rest.
This is merely a small sampling of the new offerings at your fingertips. Check us out at bozeman.net for more activities such as women’s archery, youth skateboarding, and geocaching. Feel free stop in at the Beall Park Recreation Center for more information. Happy summer!
