The fight to save the Land and Water Conservation Fund.

In 1965, Congress created the Land and Water Conservation Fund, guaranteeing Americans access to public land, and while you might not know it, it’s helped pay for the creation and maintenance of many of our favorite recreational hotspots here in Montana. Since its inception, nearly $540 million has been invested in land and water to enhance hunting, fishing, and other recreation opportunities, ensuring the growth of a vibrant and stable tourism and recreation economy. Unfortunately, this fund is regularly misappropriated, and may soon run out. Luckily, Business for Montana’s Outdoors, a statewide group of businesses and entrepreneurs, has launched a campaign to keep that from happening, focusing on the economic benefits of public land and a recreation economy.
