Review: MKC Speedgoat Ultra

If there's one thing I've learned about hunting in Montana, it's that every ounce matters. That's one of the reasons I couldn't wait to add Montana Knife Company's Speedgoat Ultra ($375) to my pack. I've always been hesitant about investing in a spendy knife, assuming most are not worth the price tag. But after years of constantly sharpening and resharpening blades, I'm excited to have a tool that's durable, corrosion resistant, and can handle several tasks without slowing me down. The carbon fiber handle is not only beautiful but incredibly comfortable too, with a secure grip and minimalist profile that's easy to clean. And the custom molded MKC sheath is a great bonus, making for convenient access when attached to my pants or pack. But best of all might be knowing that MKC will clean, sharpen, repair, and even reshape my blade if needed, making this a knife I know I'll be using for years to come.
