Review: Distil Wally Wallet

When it comes to my everyday carry—keys, phone case, wallet, belt, sunglasses—I’m intentional. I want each piece to do its job, no gimmicks, no frills, just honest function. For years, that’s meant holding on to a threadbare wallet I cannot recreate or replace. That's why I picked up a Wally Bifold 5.0 Venturetek from Distil.

As a whitewater kayaker and an otherwise frequently-soaked recreator, I immediately noticed the utility in this upgrade from the classic leather wallet. The synthetic material is tough, dries quickly, and shows no signs of ever being submerged or stashed in a wet pocket. Crafted with impressively durable, wear-resistant 88% recycled nylon, the Wally Bifold proves that long-wearing alternatives to leather can be eco-friendly, too. The eVent BIO lining is waterproof and made with a castor-bean polymer that’s evedently 97% renewable carbon, a plus for me.

From duct-tape wallets to DIY card carriers, my homemade versions have always had… let’s just say, “room for improvement.” Distil nailed what I couldn’t: a wallet compact enough to keep my daily carry lean, but roomy enough to hold every card I need and even the ones I don't. This one’s earned a permanent spot in my pocket—and a spot on my holiday gift list for a friend.

Available at distilunion.com; $99.
