Review: Perfect Bungee
Bungee cords come in many styles, from cheap Wal-Mart flimsies to burly S-hook straps used for lashing big-rig load covers. One flaw common to all, though, is eventual deterioration—nylon bungees eventually stretch out, and even professional-grade rubber degrades. Enter Perfect Bungee, a series of cords made from polyurethane, which doesn’t crack, break, or lose its elasticity. I tried a few different styles for several applications—strapping cargo on a trailer, attaching skis to my pack, securing gear on a raft—and these babies really held strong. I especially liked the loop-end cord, which allowed me to wrap one end and reef on it without fear of it slipping off and turning me into a Cyclops. $32.50 for an eight-cord combo pack; theperfectbungee.com.
