Review: Nomad Cook Kit
If there are two things that the French are known for, it’s their cuisine and their appreciation of the (other) finer things in life. Recently, Opinel found a way to combine the two with their new five-piece Nomad Cooking Kit.
The Nomad includes a compact beechwood cutting board, two folding knives with a bottle opener & corkscrew, a folding peeler, and a microfiber carrying cloth into which everything packs neatly. Each tool is built to last, forged from stainless steel, and features Opinel's signature locking mechanism to secure the blade. Beyond basic functionality, this kit exudes class and makes me feel like I’m preparing haute cuisine every time I take it out.
The kit weighs in at 14 ounces, so it's not exactly suited for ultralight backpacking or weeklong hunting expeditions, though I’ve found it’s great for shorter jaunts, trail rides, and riverside picnics.
In sum, whether you’re attempting to impress your date with a sunset charcuterie board at Peets Hill or trying your hand at a backcountry beef bourguignon, the Nomad Cooking Kit has the tools you'll need.
