Review: Pecos Outdoor Table

When it comes to meal-prep in camp, nothing makes it go better than a table—and nothing makes it go worse than said table collapsing and sending your stuff into the dirt. Say goodbye to rickety work surfaces with the Pecos Outdoor Table ($700), a burly workstation that can withstand whatever adversity it encounters. In addition to an impressive weight capacity (3,200 lbs.), it boasts excellent portability, adjustable legs for stability on uneven ground, and a slew of clip-on accessories for drinks, paper towels, trash bags, and more. The height allows for full cooler access under the table, while an optional cutting board doubles as protection from stove heat. This thing may not be cheap, but it’s the last camp table you’ll buy—and it'll work for just about ever imaginable purpose.

To wit: I took the table antelope hunting in mid-October. Daytime temps hit 80 degrees, so I needed to get my animals skinned, quartered, and placed in the cooler, pronto. The Pecos table stood fast as I dropped entire carcasses on and got to work. In concert with my tailgate, I had a handy workstation with plenty of space and full stability. If I'd brought freezer paper, I could've finished butchering right then & there.
