Review: MSR Carbon Reflex 2 Tent

When I first received the MSR Carbon Reflex 2 tent, I couldn’t believe that it wasn’t missing any pieces. It’s small, compact, lightweight, and easily fits in my backpacking pack. Though on the smaller side for a two-person tent, sharing it with another person and a small dog was comfortable (after all, who doesn't love cuddling?). The shelter is just over two pounds, ridding any and all unnecessary weight. I did notice, however, that some moisture seeped through the walls overnight—I suggest waterproofing the rainfly before using it for the first time. Overall, I've found this to be a great tent for overnighters and multi-day backcountry excursions. And for you ultralight backpackers out there, the weight is negligible compared to its benefits. Available at Round House, Sportsman's, and Bob Ward's. $550; msrgear.com.
