Review: Klymit Litewater Dinghy
Weight and bulk usually prohibit boats at highland lakes, but that’s not the case with the Klymit Litewater Dinghy, which weighs only 35 ounces and stuffs to the size of a water bottle. It inflates quickly with a clever pump-less system, can float 350 pounds, and its 210D polyester fabric is plenty durable (there’s a lifetime warranty if you do poke a hole). You’ll want to add an ultralight packable kayak-style paddle, but at this price that shouldn’t be a problem.
The Litewater Dinghy was designed for use on rivers as well and the stuff sack doubles as a pillow for overnighters.
Casting while basically lying down in a little awkward and your butt will probably get wet while getting in, but this boat is a crafty solution to finding new angles to approach high-country trout.
Available at Sportsman's Warehouse; $170.
