Review: Dakine Slayers

Rocks are hard and bikes go fast, so in order to protect my boney knees and elbows, I got a set of Slayer Pads from Dakine. Now when I’m bombing down from Mystic Lake, I don’t have to worry as much about careering off the Wall of Death. The Slayer line features both knee and elbow options, and the padding is burly foam instead of hard plastic, so the fit is more comfortable. Silicone cuffs ensure minimal slippage so your pads stay in place, even after a long day of flexing those legs and arms. The design is low-profile and lightweight, meaning the pads aren’t a hassle to have on a longer ride involving lots of uphill. Elbows: $55, Knees: $65; dakine.com
