The trails are calling and my answer is the Oboz Scapegoat Low. This versatile light-hiker is perfect for heading up Sacajawea Peak or a simple stroll along Peets Hill. The aggressive traction and durable rubber outsole is great for climbing through scree or mud, or just sticking to the trail. The Oboz B-Fit Deluxe insole provides stability plus protection in high-impact zones. The upper portion of the Scapegoat is a mix of mesh and synthetic leather overlays, creating a very breathable shoe. It also has a rubber-coated toe and heel, plus an elastic scree collar around the top. As with previous Oboz shoes I’ve worn, the Scapegoats require some time to break in. Available at Schnee’s and Bob Ward’s. $130; obozfootwear.com.
