A Brighter Blue & Bank Pocket

a brighter blue, bank pocket poems

A Brighter Blue
by Audrey Steinfeldt

Mountain bluebird ushers spring
Riding on your cobalt wing
Flying through the firs and pines
Resting on an old fenceline
A brighter blue against the sky
A flash of brilliance streaking by
The joy within your vivid flight
Captured graciously in my sight

Bank Pocket
by H.G. Moser

Certain bushes along a trout
stream seem to collect flies and
lures like no other.

Do they want to look like
Christmas trees, possibly
worship?

Or maybe they're just the most
likely places where trout should not be caught.
